my idea came whilst studying my chemistry book and i came across a mineral called 'Malachite' that is a green copper based mineral and was mined by the romans and when it was heated at high temperature it gave off it's impurity's and became copper metal.
I say this to give some back round for the people that don't want to modernize the game to much
the idea is to take mossy cobblestone (green ore) and chuck it in a furnace to make copper ingots, simple enough + =
when = copper ingot
not only does this give minecraft a new metal and a use for mossy cobblestone but also copper ingots could be arranged in crafting table to form !PIPES! that could transport water (or lava).
When this is coupled with the introduction of PISTONS into the game some pipe could be placed next to a piston
in the crafting menu and hey presto !PUMPS! water can be transported uphill and over distance.
To stop the unrealisticness of one little pump can power an entire network of pipes forever, the water could lose pressure after so many blocks on a level surface and fewer blocks if it is going uphill. so more pumps would need to be added along the pipe line (like redstone inverter circuits).
so when + is in the crafting square it makes an end pump ie: pump at the end of the pipe.
and for pumps that could be placed along the pipeline + + makes a pump square that can take water flowing into a node flow out of another node just with more power hence allowing water to be transported uphill!. = copper pipe = piston
post any suggestions that will help improve this because i think it would be really good to have IN GAME not as a mod.
a metal like copper would be nice
iron tools have a durability of approx 250 and then the next step is diamond which is 1500
something in the middle would be nice or they could even make copper the current iron level and boost iron a little and make steel stuff
there already is flint and steel so actually having the steel item could be handy
as for hydralics, i think it'd be a good idea cos it'll help with the endless water spires when you empty a bucket
BRH-Productions have made a Malachite Ore Mod :biggrin.gif: It is not what you are suggesting here, but still :biggrin.gif:
