This is a very interesting and beautiful world type added by a mod someone made, The worlds generated by the mod are beyond description, look at this you tube video for a good tour of the biospheres mod.
Post you support and hopefully Notch or someone on the dev team will take notice and add the option into a future update.
Look pal. This IS an awesome mod and all, but that's all it should be. A Mod.
That's the option you have. To get the mod, or not to get the mod. And believe you me, this is not something that should be added to the vanilla minecraft, however pretty it may look. It would RADICALLY change how Minecraft is played, and thus, wouldn't be such a sandbox game after all. You'd be confined, you'd HAVE to use the materials you can find within the biospheres, and you'd HAVE to build within the biosphere, otherwise you'll have to spend a lot of materials just building platforms and bridges and whatnot.
You get no support from me. And I'll be damned if this ever gets to vanilla minecraft, because then, minecraft will have lost what it has over definitive genres. This is a genre of its own. A free roaming game, I guess. There may be a better term. But yes, if you start setting limits (biospheres) to the world, then it's not quite AS free roaming, even if you CAN make it from biosphere to biosphere with pre-existing bridges. There are some of those, for the rarer materials, that DON'T have bridges. So you WILL have to spend ressources to get to them. And, let's face it, it doesn't look very realistic now, does it?
Go ahead and play and love the mod as much as you like. But under no circumstances should this ever be added to vanilla minecraft. Because then, it'll be called Biocraft. Really. Or Domecraft. But the massive mining part will be much, erm, undermined. Yea...
I like this idea, though I wonder about its affability. It seems like water, clay, sand, and a few other item types (including namely iron, diamond, gold, etc) would be a little too scarce. Definitely a great mod though.
