"There you are, bottled up inside your cave, few weapons and almost no armor. Your men are desperate-looking, their eyes filled with despair. The wounded outnumbered the people who can still fight. A large force is coming upon you, not enough for reinforcements to come. One of your scouts who still managed to walk reported them close. You have no choice but to surrender. Finally, something caught your eye. An old chest filled with random items. You tried to scrounge what you can to use against the enemy but to no avail. Then as you pulled back your arm from the inside of the chest something stung you a little. It was a black object. You noticed it was sharp flint. An idea grew inside you.
As your men watched you tinker over your new idea they think you've become nuts. As you are finished you threw a disk on a target dummy. Sliced. Smiling, he gave the rest of the disks to his men, they too knowing what to do.
As the day came the enemy marched. They bellowed a mocks and taunts but alas, you are nowhere to be found. Then suddenly a small rectangular object came from the top of the cave was you yourself. Smiling confidently the enemy did not have time to react as the small object exploded and sent random pieces of flint, arrows, disks and even sticks to the enemy. The shrapnel killed a few. The enemy leader, eyes red with hate signaled archers to shoot you. The archers never got a chance. Your men dug under their feet, placing what appears to be a larger version of the explosive shrapnel object. As the archers readied their bows a huge bang was heard and from the ground itself hundreds of random items started to erupt. Junk came flying into the flesh of the opponents, tearing with force from the explosion. You then signaled your archers as the now small weak force tried to escape got mowed down. The victory is yours."
What the story shown was to be using your stuff for makeshift weaponry.
First off, disks, flint and other random items can be thrown dealing 1 heart.
The explosive pack can be made like this:

[] [] []
The white spaces is for random stuff. So for example you placed lots of flint in it then the explosion it will do will be flint. That provides you with a wide arsenal of junk to use as a last resort of sorts.
You can combine 9 of these to create the huge explosive block versions of the one above. Prepare for fireworks..
Not really. If you have a block of TNT you should be able to kill several enemies around you with just that. It seems completely unneeded when you can already kill any enemy in the game with ease, even with an empty inventory. Well, except maybe Ghasts, but this wouldn't work on them too well either.
