you forgot wood blocks :tongue.gif: most organic thing you'll find on your first day of minecraft.
wait,no,that would make it to easy,break tree,get saplings,plant saplings,make compost bin,put leftover wood in,wait 4 days for wood to compost,saplings fully grown,repeat.
Hehe, I think a log will take much longer to turn into compost or something.
IDEA!:
this would fit perfectly with the trash block idea
put any random 9 items in the crafting grid like so: ]" title="-<->" />
(I know what yoru thinking..WHY WOULD I WASTE 2 GOOD NOTCHS?!?!?!)
this owuld make a GARBAGE block that looks like a block of garbage!
you can now make your own dump for decorational purposes you can also burn it but its like barely good for burning
maybe 1 thing
but with a garbage block now not only can you trash uneeded things you could turn the garbage block into compost!

lol... huuuuh
That sounds a bit, unrealistic and unfitting :/
Garbage =/=Compost, and you can't make compost out of non-organic things. A trash block wouldn't fit very much into the game. We have nice home-made incinerators to get rid of our trash.
Also; why does it decompose faster in iron than in wood? Don't claim you want more realism just moments before suggesting something that makes little sense.
Also; 2/4 days to accelerate the growth of something that doesn't really take too long anyway, is really not something you can consitantly do to every crop unless you have 5-6 compost bins all topped up 24/7(Basing this on the average size of my own farms, obviously this differs based on how ambitious you are in your farming)

It would certainly underpower bonemeal. Sure, we can keep it, but underpower it. Yes, making compost take longer to form could be a possibility.

eh it wasent much of an idea anyway ...im going to run away from notch now
This is really over complicating it. Just keep bonemeal as it is, and change it to acellerate, but not insta-grow plants.
And besides, what would be the point? The time it takes to compost the items would take more time then just growing the tree normally,
Jeez, I don't get what's so complicated about this suggestion. What is?
Yes, we can keep bonemeal. But not as it is, obviously. Compost would be handy if you're playing on peaceful or if you don't feel like mob hunting. I've edited the time for compost to form for more realism, it can be changed. And you can make multiple compost bins.

ive been thinking and the biome and envirment shouldaffect the time too like if its on irogated soil it will work fster cause composters need to be humid to work and they should work very slow in deserts since there is no water to give humidity

You can still use sticks though, as said above.

Lol. Probably a bad idea to say that.

Hurr Durr, used as a fertilizer for plants.

Many people have mob grinders anyway.
eh it wasent much of an idea anyway
