So, I'm reposting this, due to my old thread being stupid and really old (Alpha, I think).
Creeper Packs
What it's about:
Creepers; why they do what they do and what they should do.
What they do:
As we all (painfully) know, creepers explode. What I've always wondered, is "why?". Why would any creature be so aggressive, knowing it will end in it's ultimate death?
What they should do:
What I propose is creeper packs, as in families, flocks or even hordes. Creepers would spawn in groups of, IDK, 5-20, and would stay together, until they see you and X of them (depending on the size of the group) runs up to you to "greet" you in a way we all know. This is a more realistic, because less creepers would die and more would be born. IT'S EVOLUTION, PEOPLE!
Further ideas:
I would also like to see creeper babies, and their parents protecting it! Wouldn't you die for your child? Or as Nutzor kindly said it:

"Hey daddeh, look! A human! Can we go see him? PLEAAAAASE?"
"Uh, sure kiddo. Cmon, wife."
"Hello stranger! We are the Creepersssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...."
*BOOOOOOOOOOM*
They would try to run away from you, but if you kill it, it drops either lots of gunpowder of a new item, concentrated gunpowder, making extra powerful TNT. It can explode as well, making a sound kinda like (see from about 0:20) destroying all blocks directly in contact with it (above, below, behind, in front, right and left).
Attraction to manmade objects such as planks, glass and bricks. Everyone is a bit curious, right?

guys, you need to think carefully about creepers, how they reproduce and why they explode. How come there are always creepers even though they kill themselves for no reason at all?
protip guys, creepers don't just leave behind holes in the ground. They leave millions of microscopic creeper larvae that have just been conveniently spread across a large area.
That is a good idea, however, why not blow up at a specific location instead, a place where it's seed would be spread far, such as an open field or by the beach? On the other hand, they could try to attach it's seeds to you and make you carry them around until fall off in a faraway place, but then again, why kill you? Seems like a bad idea, as corpses can't move. And why not blow up next to other creatures as well? They are more likely to wander around more...

Creepers aren't animals, they are giant fungus.
Again, considerable, as Notch described them as "crunchy, like dry leaves". This WOULD also explain the whole thing with spores. I would also like to point out that jellyfish are plants as well, but they lay actual eggs who acts like seeds.
Got more ideas? Rants? Please post them, so I can add them to/edit this post!
I feel like I have forgotten something obvious I was supposed to say...
Creepers don't want herds. They want to violently explode for no apparent reason. More specifically, they want to violently explod for no apparent reason near players.

Why? That makes no sense.
If this thread is supposed to be the voice of "makes sense..."

No, it's supposed to gather ideas to improve the creeper so IT makes sense.
Hi.
There is a mod that causes creepers to bunch up and move in a certain direction together. I lost the link, but you MIGHT want to look into this.
Creepers, with their sad face of depression, seem fine to be loners. Do not want.
I found no such mod, sadly. What do you think would improve this idea instead of just a "Do not want."?

I don't want to improve the idea because I don't want it, simple as that. I'm sure others will want this, but I'm not one of those people. If you asked me why, I couldn't say. I just don't.

That's just what makes it so scary: it seems to have no purpose other than to kill you and ruin your work. This guy defies every notion on animal behavior and survival, yet it still lives, only to die in an attempt to kill you.
Besides, if you want to have things make sense, start with explaining the undead humanoids that suddenly spawn in darkness for no reason other than to hunt you down, then burst into flames when exposed to sunlight.
I like the creepers like they are right now: they are like....A symbol of minecraft. If they were edited (OR REMOVED :ohmy.gif:)i would lay down and cry! Seriously! ...maybe
Creepers already spawn in packs of 3-5. Also, more would be ridiculous and useless, as if one or two explode near you, you're dead and it injures the others near it.
Most (60-80%) of the pack run away, while the rest (them being 1-5) attacks you.

P.S. Found the mod, I don't think it's updated though: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=170513
That is kinda what I'm looking for, just a tad more advanced. OK, a lot more advanced.
