Alright, this is my first Minecraft suggestion, I had a look on the list of Already posted suggestions and I couldn't find one that was similar to this suggestion. I'm new here and I'm still familiarizing myself with everything around here.
I was kinda thinking: Would it be possible if you managed to regenerate health on all difficulties, but at a much slower time than that on peaceful?
This may throw off the balance and you may think: "Oh, this is just a suggestion just to make the game easier for you!" But bear with me, I'll try my best to go into detail.
Peaceful so far, is the only difficulty where your health automatically regenerates without the use of food. It regens somewhere around 1/2 heart per second. Lets say in Easy difficulty, 1/2 heart regens once every... 5 or 10 seconds. In Normal Difficulty 1/2 heart regens once every 20-30 seconds, and in hard difficulty 1/2 heart regens every minute or 2 minutes.
Does this seem like a good idea or will this just throw off the balance? If this were to be added, would it eradicate the use of food and killing pigs? This is just my first suggestion to this game, don't expect anything special from this.

I'm aware of that, but there is a tactic where certain people, when a creeper is about to explode on them or when they are running low on health, they switch to peaceful, wait a bit then switch back to the difficulty they were on.
What about if Easy difficulty health regenerated every minute, Medium would be around 5 minutes, and in hard difficulty it didn't regenerate? Would it still ruin the balance?

That's their choice. I consider it cheating, so I don't do it. I stick to normal all the time on my survival world.

I think regeneration on easy might be okay, but not for normal. Normal should be about playing with no handicaps, the standard experience. Hard should be about "Oh, my god I'm going to die!" for people who like a serious challenge.

I've taken 1.25 damage before.
It did the re-gen animation and I went to 1 heart missing.
Anyways...
