This was just an idea I had. After almost 15 long minutes of searching through the already posted topic, I think I can put it up. Now, I know that bone meal can already be used as a fertilizer, but what if the night scares you and you never get enough bones to satisfy your ever growing need of wheat for cake. Well, I had an idea from Jagex's Runescape game MMORPG thing, where in farming you can rot crops and weeds for fertilizer.
Basically, what would happen is that you craft two or so what with a bucket, and get rotting compost, which will soon in about 5-8 minutes get turned into compost, that will be able to "upgrade" 8 or so soil spots. These upgraded soil spots will grow crops much faster, but will only stay upgraded for one grow cycle.
I guess this could just be called a slightly (more?) efficient version of bone meal, where you don't have to go out killing skeletons when you can just use your own (hard earned?) crops to make making MORE of those crops easier.
How would the wheat rot? I made a topic on rotting wheat, but how would you suggest it? Fertilizer is o.k., but bones dropped from burned skeletons in the morning seems to work well enough.
Just go and mine or something, and your crops will grow in time. You don't need much food while mining, except if you run into a dungeon or summat.
No support.

Let's suffice to say I don't think using frickin flint and steel is going to light moss on fire...

Fertilizer is supposed a reward for defeating a skeleton. If you can't earn the reward, sucks to be you. This is nothing more than another "plz make the game easier for me" suggestion.

This. Also, -1 internetz for taking the idea from runescape, do you know how much we hate that game here?

You craft wheat with bucket, and then wait for that rotting wheat to become compost. It's kind of like how you get compost in runescape.
How long would you have to wait?
