Ive been doing a lot of underwater building lately, and I came up with a couple ideas to make it a little easier. First off, I was hoping that they could implement a rebreather. It could go into the helmet slot and will act so that you can breath underwater. This item could specifically be found in dungeons (because I don't know anyway you could make Via crafting table)
Second off, I was hoping to make it easier to see under water, you could make an attachable light that you could attach to your waist slot instead of pants. In a crafting table you could put a vertical row of glowstone dust followed by 2 Colllums of glass on the side. In other terms a glow stick essentially
Lemme know what you guys think of these ideas below.
Hmmmmm. Maybe you could just have a full scuba suit. With tanks made of materials like iron gold, or even diamonds. Diamonds would of course last the longest. The better the material the longer a tank would last. And with the scuba suit you can see underwater much better.

How's that work then?
Well, you could just do a vertical row of whichever ore you would like to use.
with places similar to Marian Trench.
You would be able to craft a scuba suit and a bathyscaphe (similar to boat, only has ability to ascend/descend in a watter. Preferably with windows or something).
Of course the problem again are current water physics, but you would have to be careful in deep waters - maybe even study some general principle of how deep-sea exploring must be performed. Or you would die. Currently water doesnt harm you no matter how deep it is or from how far above it falls on you. That should be changed in the future anyways.
So deep seas would allow tons of additions like hostile giant mobs, deep sea building etc.
I feel that some form of underwater lighting is absolutely necessary. As it stands right now only Jack'o lanterns and glowstone blocks actually work underwater, and since I can only use Jackos and the light they give off is meager. I find it that even with my brightest setting on the monitor, minecraft can still be far too dark to see. Some sort of gamma/brightness controls would certainly help, but having an equipable strong radiating light that would somewhat negate the effects of the deep water's darkness would be fascinating.

Thanks,
