Notch said in his recent Word of Notch posts that he was looking for recipes for copying maps/creating blank maps.
Here are my thoughts on this. Maps can be created by placing paper in one of these arrangements.
(Consider frames to be paper since the paper icon is missing.)
[] [] [] | | [] [] [] | | results in mew map [] | | [] []
The middle recipe uses the most paper but best resembles a map.
Maps can be duplicated like this:
(Consider the Torch to be a Map that has been started.)
[] [] [] | | [] [] [] | | results in 2x [] | | [] []
This strategy allows you to stack the same map so that they can be shared whenever new people join. Because paper is renewable as a resource, I am not opposed to using more of it to make maps. It is available for anyone who has found and harvested Sugar cane.
What other recipes would people suggest to make maps?
