So I have just entered my 259th day in Minecraft. While not technically accurate as... well I changed to day a few times. But either way the game seems to keep track of how many days you have been playing the game.
My suggestion is adding Anniversaries for every year spent in Minecraft. Maybe have it so that every hundred days you get a small little gift. Like an apple. Nothing too special, but something neat.
For the first year you will get an apple seed. This seed can be used to plant apple trees. Each tree will drop 1 Apple Seed and 2-3 apples. These apples can be used as just regular apples, turn them into Golden Apples, or... well I guess it's about damn time Minecraft got Apple Pie. Or any kind of pie. Damnit where is my pie?!?!
Every year after that you get more apple seeds. Because you can only get 1 apple seed per tree you can only ever have 1 apple tree. Each year afterwards you can increase that seed count. Well maybe not. Maybe every hundred or so days after the first Year anniversary.
Now for Calendars. We need a means to keep track of our days and not have to resort to a mod.
Calendars would be easy to create. Paper, ink sacs, and wool.
The calendar would look like a typical calendar and can be placed on walls or be kept on you. The top half would feature a small picture similar to paintings. Green Wool gets you a images of Creepers, black wool would give you a spider images, grey wool, skeletons, and well something for slimes. They wouldn't be too detailed but a really simple image.
To check the day you would simply right click it and it will display the day and well I guess time.
What would this add to the game? Your experience? I dunno. I thought it would be rather cool.
I like the little gift idea and stuff but having a apple tree will unbalance the game bit but i like the calendar although you could always support the book idea and use that book for a calendar and by the way there is no crafting recipe for the calendar
Well it's a rough idea. I pretty much came up with a bare bones idea and filled in the rest as I wrote it up.
Though I really do want the ability to actually obtain apples. Have yet to really find any in dungeons and not sure if they are still in there. Perhaps the Apple Tree needs a bit more balancing. Much longer time to grow or something.
yeah not entirely sure what the crafting recipe was. Sort of did this on the fly. I suppose I would guess it would look something like
I'd argue that after 100 days that game would be easy no matter what at this point, so making it easier isn't exactly a problem.
Like after 5 days I'm generally decked in armor, and swimming in ham and bread, so balance is already thrown.
I like this idea because it motivates people to focus on a single awesome world, but I'd also want the game to get harder or at least have hard challenges (like random temples with a dragon in it, harder enemies deeper underground, or more Nether content) so that it doesn't become boring, and so all late-game challenge isn't self imposed (like putting all your stuff in a chest, moving and starting over).
