I personally like the idea, since I'm a cat person. And it would also be quite different from Wolves, and have different abilities. Some of it's main aspects are:
-Found in the wild, mainly in woods, or any biome with lots of trees. Not excluding snowy areas. Also, more rarely, found in swamps and deserts. It would be slightly more rare than wolves.
-When you find it, you are able to tame it with fish. Once tamed, you can feed it pork.
-It's form would be somewhat like the wolf's, but it may have pointier ears and a significantly shorter snout. It would also be smaller than a wolf.
-It would be able to jump up to two blocks high, run 1.5 times faster, and take fall damage from one block higher. This is because, from my knowledge, cats are more agile than dogs. The speed part is questionable.
If we wanted to make things more complicated, we could make them tame-able with mouse tails, obtained by killing mice:
-Mice would be small mobs that live in pre-generated mouse holes (small, one block diameter caves only deep enough to reach the rock layer, but other than that they can be fairly long or short.), or caves. They would be just a six pixel long block with a 7 pixel long, one pixel diameter tail and one block sized ears. The body would be about 4 or five pixels. They would be quite quick and try to avoid the player, although they would only have one to one and a half hearts of health. When killed, they drop a mouse tail that can be made into fertilizer as bones can, or can be used to tame bobcats.
Well, thats the general idea, and since I know nothing about coding or anything I have no idea if this would even be possible, but I think it can. And, this plan probably has several flaws, but it's just an idea.

TL;RD:
Bobcats would be found in area with trees, tame-able with fish or mouse tails from cave mice/rats, eat pork, can jump a little better than wolves, and be awesome.

Chickneys are friends, not food. Same with pigs and cows. Not zombies though.
Already suggested multiple times (But this doesn't mean it is not one of my favourite ideas on the forums)!
Though, they should not include mice, but should be tamed with fish.
They should also be found only in desert biomes, about as common as wolves. This would provide a good opposite to wolves, as well as being realistic.
