So... I was working on a custom map for the portal mod, and it got me thinking... wouldn't it be cool if when you reached the next room, GLadOs would say something funny/witty? That's when I thought of the idea for recordable note blocks. We all know that when you right click a note block, it changes the note it makes. I was thinking we could be able to craft some sort of sheet music (ink sac and paper) to put on the note block. When we do that, a GUI opens up with all of our saved "Recorded Sounds" saved as one of the note files (maybe a new folder in the directory/appdata?) and choose a sound (With a preview of the sound so that we know we picked the right one.) and the block plays that recorded sounds. One issue I could think of would be for transferring maps to other players. Maybe the sounds would be in a texture pack-like folder that accessed the "saved sound database" and extracted the right sounds to play. I know the transferring part sounds complicated, but tell me what you guys think!
Recordable Note Blocks?
