You can punch things 6 blocks away with your fist...
You wann punch 9 blocks away? MOVE 3 BLOCKS FORWARD AND STOP BEING LAZY!
Over lava? No thanks
Learn the art of shift bridging. It's where you hold shift. And place blocks. And make a bridge! Congradulations!
PS: You want to be able to hit 3 extra blocks away. Next comes another lazy guy asking for it to be 4 extra, cause he's one out of reach. Then another asks for 5 extra, cause he's one out of reach now. And so on...

I do shift bridging all the time. The pole is for when I don't want to do it. If you want to reach something just out of reach, what makes more sense, grabbing a pole, or building a freaking bridge?

Well, I say it stops here. There's one tool for reaching stuff. "The Pole".

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.
Interesting, but at the same time not exactly needed, and more likely to be a waste of coding.
What about a thirty nine and a half foot pole?
Impossible. There is no Grinch.
Also we have a short and long range weapon already. They are the Sword (Short Range) and the Bow (Guess).

A pole would not really be a weapon. It just works like your fist. It'll take a while to poke a zombie to death. Also, as a wooden item, and non-upgradeable, it will wear out rather quickly, especially considering you'll use it for everything from clearing high branches to shearing sheep. I'd much rather come at a zombie with a diamond sword. Hell, I'd rather use a wooden sword, since it does more damage.

second all all. no still have to lol again, but seriously. yes laziness can necessitate invention, this has no point because
every use for it is cancelled out by some other method of getting closer to what you are trying to punch. Ex. shift bridging, pillar jumping, bow, etc. so no. there is absolutely no reason for this

This.
Or have a modder add in one of those boxing gloves on springs.
Place (put) a (one (1)) block (cube) in the lava (hot red stuff at the centre of the Earth).

Laziness. End thread.
Laziness is the deadbeat dad of invention.
Laziness by itself is not a good reason to reject an idea. Besides, it's not laziness if it makes you able to work faster.

Laziness is absolutely a good reason to reject it since it adds nothing worthwhile.
Nothing worthwhile? Can you read what you're typing? A pole has many uses. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it has no application.

Also, try not to be a **** about it. I obviously can read.
