We all have seen the electrified creeper right? They make about three times the explosion(Don't know the exact numbers). I was thinking, if this can happen to the creeper when struck by lightning, why not have a way to transform TNT into electrified TNT. You could craft and set up a lightning rod, created like so:
Where = Redstone torch and = an iron block. Total materials required: 13 iron ingots, 8 cobblestone, 2 gold ingots, one redstone.
You would place this on the ground, and if lightning strikes the block or any iron block adjacent to it(Or an iron block which is adjacent to that iron block, etc.) it will become charged. Just place some TNT in here while charged, and you get electrified TNT(It gains 3 charges from a lightning strike, and has a max charge of six for the rare occasion lightning strikes twice). The electrified TNT has 5x the explosion power as TNT(15x15 holes in stone FTW, unless you think that is too powerful, but considering how rare it is for lightning to strike it I thought it was balanced). I could easily change this numbers if I received criticism on it, so don't base your argument solely off these numbers .
Go ahead and flame/criticize/praise this idea freely. I really don't care if you hurl insults at me, and I'll accept any and all logical criticism.

No. You're being purposely ignorant, and a smartass.
I agree with weezr on this one. The idea of the electrified creeper to me seems like a freak-accident. A creeper just happened to be hit with lightening, and you just happened to be there to see it. Channeling lightening into tnt seems like it would be a good way to blow up your house. A better explosive sounds nice, but I don't think this is a legitimate way to do it.

?!?!
Lightning = hot
so wouldn't this just explode?
probably.
And I can also pour a bucket of water and it will spread up to infinity until it reaches an endless space beneath a COMPLETELY unbreakable mineral that somehow completely destroys all materials but I can exist inside. And I can level a mountain with the insides of a green plant monster thing that explodes. And this green plant monster thing doesn't explode when struck by lightning even though it is made out of the same stuff as TNT. Minecraft isn't realistic :tongue.gif:.

This would be okay but only if charges from being hit itself or by hitting blocks immediately adjacent to the block work, otherwise this becomes too easy for the chances to go up significantly. Also with a reduction to the explosion radius.

Otherwise it is a good concept.
