Hey, just thought of an interesting idea for record players. What if they could be made to start playing the current record in them over again if they got powered by redstone? That way you could just flip a switch for your favorite music as you got to your base, from anywhere in your base, without having to travel back to start it up again. It would also allow for more noticeable alarms that lasted longer while also being pleasant.
(And of course, having much more record songs would be appreciated.)

Things I hope get put into Minecraft: Piston (since it can act as a Sluice Gate), Birds, Aether, colorful fish (like the birds), deeper ocean biomes.
I like this idea, even though I have never actually make the record player myself. Frankly, it should loop the record until you change it, but it should greatly reduce the listening distance (currently about 75 blocks, which means 75 meters according to the wiki). That is almost a football field. I have yet to see a record player that can do that on it's own.
While Notch is at it, it would be nice for him to fix the duplicated record glitch, as well as make so other people in SMP can hear the record played. Kind of sucks to make a nice party room and have to give everyone a jukebox if the want to dance too :biggrin.gif:

haha seriously, I wish everyone could hear the record & having it be able to repeat is just a bonus. I would love to see this happen
Your thread's been dead a month, only has 3 posts ALL BY YOU, and you just necro'd it yourself out of desperation. Obviously, it wasn't worth anything, much less worth an advertisement here.

Do you show children your phallus? Is that what you want them to see?
Well, yours was more about recording music, am I right? This one is mostly about just being able to get the record player to start playing again with redstone. And possibly having more records. But mainly the ability to turn the record player on again with redstone. Though having it so everyone could hear it in multiplayer would also be nice.

Well, how big is Steve if two blocks really is two meters? The stated distance doesn't quite mesh up with the actual distance, in all honesty. :tongue.gif:
