I've got a few suggestions, but these are just new control requests that I think would add to the game.
Autorun: For those long, safe walks down a tunnel or something. It wouldn't replace or affect the use of minecart tracks since those are much faster and safer; Autorun has the risk of putting you in lava or down a pit if not used carefully.
Turn left/right keys: Remappable turning keys would make spiral staircases a LOT easier to navigate than the current method of turning with the mouse/lifting it and turning again.
Sneak lock: Seriously. My left pinky finger is going to be the first one to get carpal tunnel. Holding the shift key down while trying to WASD is the main reason I have to take breaks from building tall structures.
Well, now I just use the autorun bug by pressing W and E at the same time then closing inventory. Why it was shot down is beyond me, it's usefulness is very limited but a hell of a boon when you're running back down a long mining shaft to recollect your items from a death. If they fix that, I'll just put something heavy on my W key for those 2-3000 block runs.
As for spiral stairs, I just dont make them in my buildings anymore, because they're a pain in the ass to navigate with just the mouse.
The two things I want more than anything in this game are renewable glass and sneak lock. Also, a million diamonds, i want that too. I use Xpadder and an xbox 360 controller, with sneak activated by clicking the left stick, everytime I move while sneaking I run a chance of accidentaly lettinng go. I could put it on left bumper but then it becomes difficult to mine while sneaking, i could also put it on right bumper but then it is difficult to place blocks.
P.S. Carpel tunnel affects the wrist and you cannot get it in any specific finger.
