I liked the idea of smoke, but the post was lacking all detail.
Firstly this would only be for realism mode only.
Conditions: 2 or more torches right next to each other, OR any one block fire. (furnace maybe, but that's only if you guys don't think that's over doing it.)
If these conditions are met a smoke block would spawn one block above the triggering source. This block would appear as a semi-transparent gray block, and float to the highest point. If a players' head were to be in a smoke block for 10 seconds he/she would begin to receive .5 heats per second until he/or she got out of the area. The only way to avoid this is to create a vent to the top. This could be done in a more complex fashion by allowing piston blocks (when implemented) to move smoke blocks in a non-friction way.
I'd have to say that this should emulate water physics in reverse though, because straight columns of smoke would look unnatural.
But floodfilling smoke upwards would likely ruin FPS, so the same level system should be used. Smoke at a distance greater than 5 from the source should die.
I'm guessing your talking about my Smoke Block Idea
And if you are, I posted it a couple of times, in the exact same way you have done, and I may not have done that so for when I gave it an official home
Anyways, Great Minds Think Alike, LoL
P.S. I talked to the creator of the FiniteLiquid Mod and he said he might be able to do it with his modifications towards the fluid system
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
