As minecraft grows, it will inevitably need new ways to craft. A larger grid with an upgraded crafting table is probably the most thouht of idea. Another idea, maybe less thouht of, would be the construction of "parts". Let's say for instance, I'm crafting a "robot". This is just an example; It is in no way a suggestion that we nees robots.
A robot would be a little hard to fit in our standard 3x3 grids. However, we could easily build an "arm" out of iron. And another arm. Add two legs, a head, and a body. Now put all that on he grid, and you've just constructed a much larger entity than would have been able to be built on a normal craftig grid. Once again, robots are the example, not a suggestion. Please critisize the crafting ideas, not the robot. Now that I have enphasized that fact, please comment, critisize, and pitch any new ideas you may have.
No. Adding a larger grid would cause confusion. Crafting recipes would not be intuitive and hard to remember; the power in New York would go out causing a blackout. The excess energies would cause a catastrophic catalytic effect leading across all of the United States causing car wrecks, suicides, and another baby boomer generation; eventually the Hoover Dam would explode causing an enormous flood across Nevada.
And you will be to blame for the death of all those millions of fish.
