nope, im not trolololin' here, im seriously (super cerealy) suggesting manure. (i might have referred to manure as "poo", but now i write manure instead)
manure can come from all passive animals not including chicken, since it's manure doesnt fit my uses, and wolf because then you can farm manure
im thinking of 2 ways you can get manure: either make it like chicken eggs for sheep, cows and pigs.
or, manure will be "planted" automaticlly, like a sapling, and will stay there for a minecraft day (20 minutes) before it degrades. also, after you harvest the manure, it will degrade from your inventory in 3-7 minecraft days. taken out for pointlessly collecting manure until it disappears, which is annoying.
the first time you pick up a manure block, it has a chance of not just dropping the manure, but also a seed or two.
by "the first time" i mean the first time for that particular manure block, if you put it back on the ground and pick it back up again, unlike gravel, manure wont have any chance of dropping seeds.
the uses, you ask?
1. a more common fertilizer, rushing the sapling 1 minecraft day ahead, just like you apply bone meal. 2. a darker shade of brown then coco beans. got taken out for being too disturbing. i just really like wool colors.
3. bricks! this is how you can craft with manure bricks:
first, heat up the manure in a furnace to make dry manure, which wont degrade, but wont be used for the first 2 uses. (if you want to reuse the manure, put dry manure at the top and beneath him a bucket of water, to craft manure. the bucket will be empty afterwards) taken out because manure doesnt degrade anymore.
then place 3 dry manure in the top row of the workbench, 1 dirt block, 1 sand block and 1 gravel block in the middle row of the workbench, and then a bucket of water in the middle of the bottom row, which will craft a bucket of *name* (cant think of a name, help me here).
the bucket of water, instead of being empty will switch sides to be the bucket of *name*.
the bucket of *name* acts like milk, you cant make rivers of it like water and lava.
then, you heat up the bucket of *name* in the furnace, and then the bucket will empty and you get a brick!
so, you can clearly see im not trolololin', what do you think? help me think of a name for the bucket of *name*!
and for a better view of the recipie for the bucket of *name*:
(3 dry poo manure here)

= a bucket of water, not just water.
i got the idea from my trip to romania, my grandfather insisted on visiting the museum of how people lived before technology, in cabins and stuff.
when i was chillin' on a fence, the guide told me that the fence is made from real dirt and horse manure.
i took a shower afterwards.
4. attraction! (its a variation of Everybody0523's suggestion, you are due credit for this.)
so, think, what manure attracts?
flies!
and what do flies attract?
yup, you guessed it (if you guessed it, that is), spiders!
what im thinking, is that spiders will have a greater chance of spawning (only in the right conditions that they spawn right now, not in day light obviously) near manure, im thinking in the radius of 5-10 blocks, maybe? make suggestions to refine it!
if you put manure on several blocks in the 5-10 ratio, the chance of spiders spawning rises, but the % (which could be like 3% maybe?) will max out after 5 blocks with manure on them.
more blocks with manure on them wont increase the % of spider spawning.
this could help with mob traps and such, but you will have to put more manure each minecraft day because manure degrades after a day.
give me some input here, i need to refine it with %'s and radius and other stuff, perhaps!
5. fuel!
yes, i know, there is plenty of fuel to go around (saplings, sticks, wooden planks, other wooden things im not aware of, coal, charcoal, lava and so on) but hear me out:
first, manure will now only drop early in the morning, a minute after sunrise.
by manure, i mean the normal manure with all the uses above.
but, if you collect manure in the time frame of sunset-sunrise (in the night), you get dried manure, which was getting dried all day.
dried manure (only dried manure) could be used as fuel, smelting either 5 items or 12, i havent decided yet.
probably going for 5.
dried manure has this use and the attraction effect only, with a 1%-2% reduction in spider spawning chance, and a 1-2 blocks less of a radius.
sp, what do you think?

of course, since i wrote so much about a strange subject i MUST be a troll!
thank you for opening my eyes to a side i have never seen in my life!
Using it as a dye?
Using it too color bricks?
Poo?!
well, you cant smell anything, and food doesnt get rotten, so...
and you dont color bricks with it, you color wool and make bricks, which, in turn, can be crafted to brick blocks.
simple?
@PugRme he's not trollin, just thinking outside of the box. Possibly too far outside the box...
The ideas are a bit hit and miss. Also, the way they're formatted makes it difficult to take them all in and consider them properly. I think uses 1 and 3 are good, but I'm not at all sure about 2, to be honest.
Also, I think the whole "degrading in the inventory" think might be a little OTT.
thank you!
and i also got some doubts about the second one, but i really like wool dyes for some reason, i dont know why exactly.
and why should poo not degrade just because the player picked it up?
also, whats OTT?

You color wool with poo...And that's not absolutely retarded to you?

If this thread were a girlfriend, it'd do everything but anal.
This would be the stupidest/most useless thing ever. I am pretty sure you are a troll. If not, well, think of something better and try again. This is about as bad as the "lets have sex" threads. Sorry guy/girl.
Guys, stop being so conceited, just picture it in your mind. Does putting cow feces in your pocket and rubbing it on wool sound remotely like something you would want in the game? Not only is this suggestion immensely ****ing childish, but it adds nothing new to the game. We can already dye wool brown, and skeletons already drop fertilizer.
This idea is childish, gross and adds nothing new to the game. I'm against.
I think it's a good idea. maybe not as a dye, but I don't like using bone meal on crops, and this is a nice alternative. I thought it was going to be some immature thing, but it was actually well thought out. You guys who dislike it are just thinking "oh, it's poo, therefore it has to be immature, serve no purpose but to be nasty, and this guy must be a troll." I seriously think you guys need to give this a chance.

You can't make metre cubed pieces of rock get jiggy with each other, that's just WRONG.
Yea, and there should be female animals that have their periods and then we can collect the period blood to summon hellish beings to fight side by side with us!

No, he isn't. He just knows horrendous stupidity when he sees it. As do I, and this idea certainly fits that bill.

He suggested RUBBING **** ON WOOL, and **** BRICKS.
Begone.

the last thing SMP needs is a bunch of random 12 year olds shouting "I BUILDZ A HOUZ A POOP!! LOL I IZ FUNY"
Then don't do it. Grow them the normal way.
If you dislike using bone meal, you dislike this - it's the same thing, reskinned.
**** bricks have been made. lrn2oldwest
