Background:
I was playing multiplayer on Beta the other day and I noticed that all characters stand, walk, and swing their items exactly the same. Now, this is fairly obvious so I have no clue why I didn't notice it before, but I actually got a pretty good idea from it.
Concept:
My idea is to change the way the Minecraft character walks. It is a subtle change, but I think it would be great. Two characters in a Machinima with identical skins could walk totally different! That's right. I don't want just one way of walking. I want multiple. YOUR camera wouldn't change. Only the way other players see you walking.
Remember indev?
In indev stage of Minecraft's development, there was plenty of different things going on. Roundish figures, gears, etc. One thing to notice is that in indev, the character walked differently. He walked with his legs basically the same, but the arms swung differently. Why could this not return?
Clowny classic:
I'm sure you've all played Minecraft Classic. If you've done it on multiplayer, you've seen how the character "walks". He goes at the same speed of a walk, but somehow it manages to look like he is running. So, why could this not return also? I find it funny, amusing, and it would be different.
So, how do you choose what your walk is like?
Simple. You go to Minecraft.net, make sure you are logging in, go to "Profile" and there would be an are called posture. You simple click the Classic, Indev, or Beta circle and voilĂ ! Players will now see you walk different!
This simple suggestion would add a whole lot of variety to the game. If you have an idea for a new posture, post below (*be sure to describe it). If you wish to post your view of this, do so, but make sure to say exactly why your pose on postures is what it is. Thank you for reading, I appreciate it!
I think that is is funny and quite comical. If you like the idea of variation but not the classic and indev, then you may post your own posture idea in here.
Nah, I wouldn't really care much if there were different walking animations, but if it's making videos you want it for, I'd wish for a "Steve" model on Gmod.
