Everyone knows that diamond is the hardest substance on Earth aswell as in Minecraft, But there's a problem...
If someone were to mine diamond with an iron or better pickaxe, they would have their diamond quite quickly.
But if you take an iron or better pick, even a DIAMOND PICKAXE and try to mine redstone, it takes quite some time, (compared with the rate of mining of diamond).
Therefore, I suggest we reduce the time of mining redstone, and if needed, slightly increase the time of diamond mining.

(@topic) Diamond is the hardest material, but it is also incredibly brittle. IE it can resist scratching and stuff like that, but it doesn't do so well with direct impacts.

I do agree with you about redstone though. It takes FOREVER to mine for no appearent reason. I think that, along with your poll, should be changed.
I have found it odd that redstone takes so long to mine. but the diamonds being brittle could have something to do with it. It's just annoying to stand for a long time just to get redstone dust.

Diamond is going to be extracted in lumps, or "gems," which realistically would only require breaking the rocks around the chunks.
Redstone is a dust, so one would have to smash the entire rock to get the dust -- not just smashing the section with the ore.
