I think mushrooms should grow on mossy cobblestone because moss is a fungi and so is mushroom's so y shouldn't they grow together?. it would make mushrooms a little bit more common. and they will only grow in a light level of 4 so people's structure's built by mossy cobblestone won't have a ton of shrooms growing on it

But how would the growth mechanic work?
It would sort of suck to make a road with the stuff and come back the next day to see nothing but shrooms.
Maybe only when there is already at least one shroom on the cobblestone? And then it has to rain?
Or perhaps instead of rain it needs to be within 4 blocks of a source block of water while staying at or below level 10 lighting? (hostile mobs spawn at and below level 7 lighting, for reference)

it says that the shrooms will only generate once in the dungeon after its harvested they wont grow back
Maybe it hast to be in a light level of less than 4 to grow, and it takes a like 25 minutes. That way roads won't have to worry about it because they are either open or lit via torch/glowstone. You would actually have to dig a pit and plant the mossy cobblestone, then close it up and wait a few days.
