Hello, Minecraft forums. It has been in my attention for quite awhile now that cookies are almost completely useless. They are rather rare, rarer than most things that is, and are basically cooked pork chops that you have to right click multiple times in order to get the full effect. My proposition is to give cookies more of a use in Minecraft. The suggestion is to make it so that cookies are a projectile object that distract mobs. I wouldn't be surprised if this idea has been suggested before. So if you feel the need to tell me that this has indeed been previously suggested, feel free to do so. Now, onto the idea itself.
As already stated, my idea is that cookies can be thrown in order distract mobs. But what does this mean? Some of you may be asking to your computer screen. In this case, I would suggest getting psychiatric help because you are speaking not only to yourself, but also to an inanimate object. Nevertheless, I shall elaborate.
Like most thrown objects, cookies could be thrown by means of right clicking whilst holding them. Unlike most other thrown objects, cookies could not be thrown nearly as far. How far exactly could they be thrown? I am not entirely sure. Perhaps roughly 3-5 blocks? Anyways, once thrown, a hostile mob would chase after the cookie. Once it touches the cookie, the cookie would disappear, the implication being that the cookie was eaten. From that point, depending on whether or not you are still within the mob's range, it would continue to chase you. (That would be why I am unsure of the cookie's range, as I would prefer if the mob would continue to give chase even after the cookie is eaten. Thus the cookie would become more of a tool for putting distance between yourself and the mob, as opposed to losing the mob completely.)
Uses:
-Putting distance between yourself and a chasing mob.
-Quickly killing a mob by making it walk off a cliff, or perhaps into a lake of lava.
Cons:
-Could be overpowered, especially to those in possession of a bow. (Although, if you had a bow, you wouldn't really need the cookie in the first place. Still, to perhaps balance it a tiny bit, perhaps cookies would become unstackable and each coco bean would only give you one cookie.)
-Completely useless. (I refer you back to the bow example. I am not saying that I think this to be useless, I am merely stating that it is maybe useless, and I am sure most people will probably think this is useless. Still, I believe this to be more useful than the use the cookie currently has.)
-Cookies would no longer be able to be eaten. (But, as I said, I believe that cookies serve no point as a food item anyways.)
And that is my idea. Please give your thoughts and opinions on it. If it is of no inconvenience to you, please try to suggest ways that this could be made better. But, if you want to yell at me how bad of an idea this is, do so. I won't kick and scream like an infant if you choose to do so.

Wraiths: Boss-like mob for Hard!
Only one, I swear.
I feel like a noob posting this.
Don't worry, you are a noob for posting that.
On topic: Cookies are so that you don't waste another food item that could heal like 5 hearts when you're only missing half of one.
But I'm not opposed to the idea of them being used for bait. It's kind of... a perfect use for them.
Cookies.
:3
They explode from lack of cookieness or out of sheer happiness of how close they are :wink.gif:
