Webs are currently one block, but in all reality (yeah yeah... i said reality) webs are not normally one size.
I'm proposing that webs can be found in caves near a spider, but they would appear as one large web that covers the whole area, but it would break in individual blocks, and it would slightly change it's looks to accomidate the new size. This would simply be for looks but it would look a lot nicer than a whole bunch of blocks in a cave.
It wouldn't be to complex to code, as Notch would simply need to dictate some general sizes to dictate certain images, and would only need to go up to 8x8 or so in size.

False, the texture has been in terrain.png since early alpha, the block itself wasn't added until 1.5, however,
PC >...calculators>tampons>consoles
That might work...
