Stained Glass would just be cool. Lightning-Rods now preform a useful function. Let's start with stained glass.
Stained Glass. You what it is... colored glass. I do not see why it shouldn't be in the game. Basically to make it you would combine glass with a dye. Same as wool. Then when you look through it you would see a filtered version of what you would normally see. Basically to make the texture of it you would take the normal glass outline and then fill in the rest with whatever color needed. Next make that color, say, 50-75% transparent. I think that would do the trick. The only problem I would foresee is affecting the light coming through the window to make it slightly the color you want. I do not know if you can do that or not with the game engine.
Lightning Rods. Now that lightning is in the game it can set things on fire. Like wood. But what about people with wood houses? Random chance of the lightning could mean that your house would get struck by the lightning. Then if its wood, it can be set on fire. So a lightning rod could redirect or absorb the lightning. I would rather have absorb, because then you can do something with it. Like with redstone. Basically it could be like a random button. it could open a door so that way you could know that your house was just struck by lightning. Or it could set off TNT. Your choice. but my point is the energy from the lightning gets redirected. But, of coarse, it could also get redirected into dirt or stone and do nothing. But if it was wood, the it should be set on fire. Now I also think lightning rods should have a higher percentage of getting struck than other thing, for obvious reasons. But it would have to be more of a rod, not a block. So i think that it should be made in 3 parts.

Now (1) would go on the surface receiving the energy. (2) would go on top of (1). And (3) would go on top of (2). Basically it would end up as a steel rod with a thicker base than point. I think it would also be cool if you had a lightning rod over water, and you were in the water, and lightning struck, it would kill you. But I don't care about that. Just a deathtrap Idea.
Ok so I hope somebody will tell me if these idea's are possible with Minecraft's game engine and whether or not you want them put in the game. Thanks for reading this!

Or maybe, on a more serious note, you have to jump-start a nether-portal using a lightning strike, making it a lot more epic.
And maybe the lightning could be redirect-able with Redstone.
Well lighting energy would activate redstone more likely....
I don't like my cabin in jeopardy.
