I think there is a vast amount of things that should be added to minecraft. What I really miss is redstone equipment that I think would make the life for most minecrafters a lot easier (or cooler at least), since this would open a whole new dimension for redstone combinations. I was thinking of making a fully automatic train system with a time schedule and different destinations, everything going absolutely all by itself all the time. The only thing stopping me is the lack of a red stone sort of "ID reader" that would identify the right minecart and send signals to the rail switching to the right track, thus making the correct route, and a type of powered rail that keeps a steady tempo. The idea of the "ID reader" in a redstone connection, I think will open new possibilities for many creative ideas.
I'm pretty sure you can do this with the current redstone mechanics, it will just take some work.
People have made 24-hour clocks, pong, tic-tac-toe, Conway's Game of life, and music sequencers, I'm sure this can be done to.
I agree. I've often thought about making a realistic trainsystem, but since boosters act differently when you are in and out of the cart,I've failed to make it work.
The constant-speed railtrack seems interesting, it sure would be useful for reducing the amount of gold needed for boosters.

I would like to see you make one, im not saying it is impossible, just saying that with these features it would be a whole lot easier.

It would mostly involve hooking boosters and/or track switches wired to a timeing device, although, it may have to be restarted when you return to a world.
