A backpack for when your inventory is full. Basically, it'll be made by putting a chest in the center square, and leather on the outside. When you look in your inventory, you have another 3 rows of storage. Many a times I've had a full inventory and still need to put more things in it.

So it is like carrying a chest around with you.
Seems OP, chop down a tree, kill some cows, and tra-da, double your inventory space.

This is a good point. Maybe make the pattern a little harder to make?

How about this: ]" title="-<->" /> [] [] ]" title="-<->" /> ]" title="-<->" /> [] = Leather , ]" title="-<->" /> = String
=Quiver, adds four spaces that can only hold arrows. Requires you to kill spiders.
Backpack found in dungeon and adds one row (9 items) to your inventory, needs to be equiped so multiple can't be used.
I was thinking about this a bit more, and I think a cool way to do backpacks would be to make them work like maps. You equip a backpack in your inventory, and you look inside it by holding it in your main hand, and looking down into it.
OR, a totally different idea for how backpacks could work: You can place a backpack in the crafting box with up to 8 other things, which can be stacked as high as they will allow, and you get a "filled backpack" which you can uncraft to get all your stuff out.

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.
I totally disagree with backpacks. You have a large inventory that is, pretty much, a backpack. Inventory chests are overpowered, even if you have to use diamonds. What if someone had an inventory full of backpacks? And even with only one backpack, it is too much space.

or maybe instead of having a backpack for the purpose of doubling inventory space, it could be used to it not only doubles inventory space but you can take it off - serving as a way to take the chest from your house and bring it back and forth and put it back when you are done.
OR - ---- a device that lets you strap any block to your back. furnace, chest, crafting table, even cake. i'd like to see THAT.
Well I mean it's an "OKAY" idea not the greatest because basically when you press "E" that's like you're backpack and plus that would be way to easy to make I mean spend 5 minutes and BAM you have a inventory twice as big I mean if you're inventory overfills it's called chest so I disagree on this idea because basically.. we already have a backpack
