All right! So anyway, when I saw the weather update, I noticed that a desert would be a safe haven from the mob-spawning thunderstorm. Since it's supposed to be harsh, I came up with dust storms... thus inspiring me to create more weather. If you have suggestions, post them here! (Yes, all weather related things that damage you also damage mobs.)
Because a new element of the game, Wind, is used in most of these, I shall explain it first.
Wind would appear as a sound effect and/or a decoration, and it doesn't add anything to the game until a Thunderstorm, Dust Storm, or a Blizzard happens. When one of those disaster does happen, the wind blows in a random direction, and changes at a random interval. When you move in the direction the wind is blowing, you speed up, and you slow down if you move against it. The wind's strength can be a warning some events...
DUST STORMS- These appear slightly more often than Thunderstorms do in other biomes, but only in deserts. Mobs don't spawn, but visibility is greatly reduced, and you take 1/2 damage every 10 seconds. Wind would be active. Also, it covers everything in useless dust. Dust is exactly like sand, and when you put four in a square you get... a highly useful BLOCK OF SAND!
DUST TORNADOES- If you're in a desert and the wind starts blowing with no dust storm, this will happen. Dust tornadoes cover a small area, and blow sand, dirt, gravel, clay, and leaves away. (Not wood, as we don't want any O NOES A TORNADO DESTROYED MAH AWESOME HOUSE!) In a sand-covered desert, you can imagine the chaos. If you get caught in it, you take 1/2 damage every 10 seconds, but that's only the beginning. The tornado will pick you up, lift you up, and eventually, either you get lucky and the tornado dissipates, or the tornado pushes you out, and you get hurt a LOT. (Tornadoes end at cloud level.)
THUNDERSTORMS- I'm enhancing thunderstorms. First of all, there will be wind. But, there is a small chance of these events happening in a thunderstorms...
Hail- If a thunderstorm starts and the wind is harder than usual, go inside. This is a sign that HAIL will come! Hail damages you by 1 every 10 seconds, so you have less than 2 minutes without armor. That's all there is to hail.
Tornadoes- This also appears in a thunderstorm with very strong winds. Exactly the same as a desert one, but has no damaging effect to mobs once inside (like it matters, as it can still pick you up and drop you out.)
BLIZZARDS- Same as a dust storm, but has no damaging effect, appears in snow biomes (very rarely in other non-desert biomes) and drops off whole BLOCKS of snow, not regular snow.
Well that's it. Mud and Wet Sand will come soon... if some people actually like this.
Stop right there, too many weather additions is a really bad thing.

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.
I was just thinking of these ideas myself, my good man. I would like to see some weather that actually makes it dangerous to go outside. This would give undergrounds shelters a practical use. I was thinking the
other day ( Before the 1.5 update ) that one of the weathers should be an eclipse, which allows a bunch of mobs to spawn in pretty much any area that isn't immediatly adjacent to a torch. Notch then came out with something similar, the thunderstorm, which makes it dark enough for mobs to spawn during the day. I would really like to see some super rare, over the top weathers, like meteor storms or acid rain. Approved!

"The chance of you dying is directly proportional to the amount of loot you're carrying."

Great idea! Will add after mud.
