Okay guys, do you know that feeling that you get when you have an awesome house for the Nether but you are afraid to build it because monters might spawn in it?
Well, with holy water thats no longer a problem! allow me to explain:
CRAFTING:
[] [] []
[] []
[] []
= Bucket with water
EFFECT AND EFFICIENCY:
Holy water would stop aggressive mobs from spawning within 5-10 blocks from it and if an aggressive mob gets within 1-2 blocks from the holy water he will burn. You can say that torches do the same effect but let me remind you, light will not stop monsters from spawning in the Nether, therefore holy water is the ultimate tool for the Nether!
Holy water can also be used as a defense mechanism in your house, if hostile mobs take over it, a bit of holy water should get them burning.
And let us all not ignore the fact that beside golden apples and powered rails gold is useless, so this will make it efficient as it should be!
Please comment and give me your fair criticism, thank you!
Does it flow like normal water? If it does, you could probably flood a whole field resulting in the ultimate overpowered defense. And you should make it so it fades away, a "holy" lake or even an ocean would just be too overpowering, it should just be a quick single use to clear out or to hold out mobs for a little bit.
Water boils away instantly in the nether. Holywater is no different.
This is "holy" water, blessing from thy greateth lord; Notch. It should not boil away in the nether, but it should fade away like I mentioned before

It would only be one block, it would be placed together with the bucket.
It does, but dont you think that a way to make a base in the Nether would be good?
Besides, gold is kind of rare, its not like torches where you can place them all over.
Notch does not want any religion or holy things in minecraft.
Plus the nether is meant to be a hard place to survive no matter how much stuff you have, a challenge for all.
You CAN set up a base in the nether, just requires some work.
Yeah, I dug up some netherrack, put it in a stack up to the ceiling, put some tnt up right blow bedrock, and made it explode up there. I dug out the rest of the netterack up there, then put some ladders leading up to it. So, yes, it is possible to make a base in the nether. I also destroyed my old portal and put my new one in my house, so now I can go to and from the nether safely.
