Minecraft costs 14.95 Euros. Which is roughly 20 USD. And to buy Minecraft, you HAVE to use a credit card, debit card, Paypal, etc. I'm pretty sure most of us here who don't have Minecraft is either to young to have their own credit card, or their parents won't let them use their credit cards. Even if the kids have a Paypal, you need a credit card or a bank account to withdraw/deposit money. Now this is what I think Mojang should do. Actually make real, physical gift cards kids could just go to Target or Gamestop and buy. Now, I'm no market expert or anything (although I do plan in going into that profession), but there's always a cost to do this and Mojang's trying to make a profit? Correct? I don't think this is smart either, why? Because when all the kids in like San Jose bought Minecraft cards, there would be no kids to buy the cards (unless you wait for the next generation). So all in all, this is a tough problem. Making it so kids from 9-16 can buy Minecraft cards without having to use a credit card. Unless, just unless, Mojang makes like in-game content. Like something like full stack of diamonds for $1 or something. Or some DLC of the sort, like more creatures or minerals or ores. So, this is a more of a gamble. You lose or you win.
But, now if you think of the people who BOUGHT Minecraft using a credit card or Paypal. Here's the BIG question. Will it be fair? So, a Minecraft code costs $20. And they bought it for $20 (or 14.95 Euro). I personally think this is fair. So this is all up to Mojang really...
Also, another idea I came up with. Why not make it a freebie site? We all heard of Points2shop, Lockerz, Prizerebel, etc. It's just that people DON'T trust those. So if Mojang makes his own freebie site saying if you complete this amount of surveys you get your Minecraft giftcode. What's the difference between Mojang's freebie site from others is that it comes from the person who MADE Minecraft. So that tells audiences that its legit and they should give it a shot! Now, if you guys don't know anything about freebie sites, let me let you guys in.
1) Minecraft has to be popular (which it is), that way, the advertisers whose paying Mojang will get up in PageRank and what not.
2) Every time a person completes an offer, that offer gives Mojang money (I believe Mojang gets 40% or 50%, I don't really know), and Mojang uses that money (or at least the other 60% or 50% of it) and gives the user a giftcode once s/he completed enough offers and made Mojang enough money.
3) Win win
So tell me what you think of this; beautiful, I love it, I like pie, It's ugly, I'm going back to Minecraft, etc.
If you don't have parent permission, that why would they approve of you playing it normally at all? Credit Cards are fine, it's too expensive to accept cash.
