Currently, Minecraft uses an image file in the .jar to fetch it's letters. However, there are two cons to this:
(1) The letters may pixelate at larger screen sizes. The operative is "may." Because I am not aty computer right now, I cannot verify this...
(2) Problems when translating. Again, I'm not sure, but letters like è, á, ô, and ë are not supported. This causes problems with languages like French, Spanish, and German, not to mention the languages of the east, such as Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and others.
TrueType could be used like a texture pack— pick the font you choose, or bundle it in with texture packs.
Some problems/objections might be:
(1) Notch doesn't have the time and resources to implement this in the near future.
(2) We don't neeed Chinese, and Spanish, and Japanese, and French... They are small compared tothe GREAT AND ALMIGHTY English. /sarcasm?
(3) Java doesn't support?
I am not wanting this to be implemented now. This suggestion is more for the mosly finished Minecraft,
where internationality counts.
Please, critique or suggest as you like. I'm not sure this is a good idea, and this is only my second suggestion.
Eff China... That was a mis-inspired phrase on my side, but I'm from that region too, so..
It seems that I kinda miswrote the post. What I wanted ro say eas that, only English, along with a number of other languages, will be able to be represented.
PS- If it's about what Español and Français (did I spell it right) miss out on... it is self-evident by their names.Accent augie, accent circonflexe, and all those things.

I will, however, refuse any flaming or trolls.
Necesitamos un traductor!
Sure, I can agree. But try not to say "Eff China." That could **** a lot of people off.
Why must Spain and France do without? What other countries would have the glory of being understood, while other countries don't?
