What I originally imagined with this mob is that scene from Forbidden Planet, where the monster walks slowly towards the doctor's house, and it punches/tears through their defenses.
Why do we need it? The way it is now you could have a boatload of mobs right outside your door, even a creeper, and you can just stand there and punch them through the door.
like all mobs it has ten hearts, and it does no extra damage than a zombie. (unless you think it should)
It moves slowly, but is very hard to see especially in the night, so how do you know it's there? It makes a loud growling noise, or perhaps a giggling, in any case it alerts you of their presence. Unlike zombies with their terrible path-finding, hobgoblin's can climb ladders and even open doors (even iron ones).
Hobgoblin's in mythology are short and hairy creatures who can shapeshift and are very mischievous.
Ideas? What should It drop? How hard do you think it should be able to see? Will it steal your stuff?
