Yep, you read correctly! Outer space in Minecraft. Now, I'm not even sure myself how this idea would work. I just thought it may be neat to go above the clouds and into the great beyond.
Ideas/Gameplay Mechanics
As you get higher, the sky color changes.
No air in space.
Other "planets". (Ranging from very small to infinite)
Asteroids, moons, etc.
Meteors smashing into the ground, leaving behind a large hole.
Things to Discuss
How would you get to space?
Should there be an atmosphere on other planets?
Similarities of planets?
Ways to organize travel between planets without getting lost?
Block placement in space?
Feel free to completely shoot me down with this one. ;D
Well, then I'm terribly sorry for using the search incorrectly. I previously couldn't find those threads, so apparently I'm doing something incorrectly on my part.
We also have google..... (now you will stop reading here >)

I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.
Exactly, I agree it would be cool. Moon jumping and low gravity so you would almost never worry about fall damage. I think it would be a mod.

This post is against the rules as it is already posted. Millions of times. It doesn't fit the atmosphere of Minecraft at all and I can't see a person making a spaceship outta raw resources. NO GET A MOD!
Your idea has already been suggested before. Please make use of the search function or, if you are not in the searcher usergroup (which you can apply to by clicking on your user control panel and accessing the usergroup tab) you can use the google search also found at the default search link, which will provide a search specifically of this site that is quite effective.
It is generally a good policy to read the stickies before posting in any website, and this site is no exception. Particularly important to read are the following:
And, just as importantly, check the List of Already-Suggested Topics. It's not complete, but will save you time sorting through search results if you ctrl-f and find it right away. If something has already been suggested, and you aren't contributing some sort of massive radical change to the notion, don't make a new thread for it, just contribute to an already existing thread.
Thank you, and I hope you continue to contribute to minecraftforum.net.
