How many times, have you been out of space in your inventory?? for me this happens all the time, and its a pain when you need to stop and throw stuff away, that you could use later on.
so here how you could do it:
Leather all around with string, and an empty space in the middle for the items.
and besides it would look awesome to have a bag pack on your back! like some cloak or something.

And then when you've filled your backpack are you going to come running to the forums to complain that we need to extend it even further?
Here's an idea: pretend that until 1.5, the game ONLY had the hotbar as inventory, and that in 1.5 they introduced the 3 extra rows of inventory you see. They've quadrupled your space! Rejoice!
I'm not complaining you Babie, I'm just asking for some more space so i don't have to throw **** away that i want..

And that's my point - how much space will be enough for you? If you'd only had 2 rows to begin with, 4 rows would be amazing.
Also, if you don't want to throw things away, return to the surface more frequently and make more chests. It's not hard.
still theres just so much a man can carry... So back-pack would be a soulution

And how many times have you looked n the forums and seen this same idea?
This is bad for two reasons: One, it is already suggested, Two, your elaboration is almost nil. When you have an idea, search it! Why is that so hard to wrap your head around? Seriously! On top of this being against the rules, you didn't propose a crafting recipe, your suggestion was only ~3 sentences long, and you barely elaborated at all. All in all, you did one crappy job at suggestin gthis.

Wraith, /thread-ing is more or less a useless endeavor in that all it does is incentivize the OP to continue.
That being said, this suggestion was implemented in far, far better form in the backpacks megathread (it's nine pages long, at least so far as I remember). To the OP: You invoke a slippery slope. As The_Wraith said, there are simply limits on how much you can carry.
It's called a limit for a reason. Your inventory is not some magically-expanding hole. Run out of room? Deal with it. It makes mining a bit harder and forces you to consider your resource usage more wisely.

Is that the sound of someone dodging criticism?
(there is currently the storage mine cart. It would work pretty well for holding extra items too)
*facepalm*
Did you read ANY of the comments? This, though a good idea, is a copied suggestion and therefore this thread should be closed.
