hi !
i though it would be a nice feature to have a metal detector that would beep if you pointed it at something that was more valuable than ect.
i no it may make finding diamonds a bit to easy but you could limit this in many ways for example:
make it only penetrate 5 to ten blocks, make it difficult to create so that it is only obtainable later on.
this could involve a blueprint such as: [Redstone dust]
[] [] .
having the metal detector only beep would mean you would not be able to spesificly hunt for as you would only hear a beep an this could be leading you to a ect.
this could be made harder to find by only placing it in the chests guarded by monster spanners.
i no you might think it out of place in the mine craft world but but with the invention of red stone circuits and music players is not a far stretch and considering one of the main parts of Minecraft is that you ..... "mine things" this would tie along with the theme quite nicely
ps is it too much to ask to make string out of wool ...
Im positive that this has been suggested, I recommend using the search feature.
Also, diamonds are not a metal. Redstone is not a metal. Lapis Lazuli is not a metal. This would only be good for finding iron and gold (if gold is picked up by a metal detector, I am not sure)
If you have a spare diamond, you probably have some nice stacks of iron.
The last statement-
As to why string makes wool, I do not know. But if wool made string, it would defeat the purpose of playing on any mode but peaceful. Spiders are tough to kill, and drop the necessaries for bows, dispensers, and fishing rods. By getting rid of the purpose to kill spiders, the only reason to play on anything but peaceful would be for bones from skeletons. Gunpowder is irrelevant because if your going after creepers then your a BAMF that plays on hard.
Difficult mobs are there for a reason, they drop valuable items. Except zombies.
How the heck are mobs metal? How does this fit the atmosphere of Minecraft? How did you NOT think of using search before posting this? And how would this balance out well, it seems really overpowered to me.
well it being just a suggestion it is bendable to your will. i no that aren't metal but maybe all that would require you to change the name to say a density detector or something.
yet again just an idea.
oh and the time i wrote this the search feature was not working and i found no related links on Google.
I am just a guy looking for good suggestions that are original, creative, and match the theme of Mine-craft. I have some mob ideas that I need help forming which is a community project.

yet again my apologies.
REALLY PEOPLE!
Plus it defeats the difficulty of even finding iron... which ISN'T that hard.
