gold the material that looks nice. this thread does not support golden tools or making gold do ridiculous things. this thread is to purely have more AESTHETIC uses for gold. I would love to here ideas from people so leave comments and ideas.
item 1: gold trimmed paintings
crafted like so
gold trimmed paintings would have very fancy and detailed drawings that look way better then standard ones. they would also be tend to be a bit bigger. the frame would be the color of gold.
item 2: gold trimmed wool
crafted like so

gold trimmed wool would have to be dyed after this due to dec and hex stuff. looks like regular wool except with gold timmed going in 2 or 3 pixels on each side. this can make some very nice carpets.
item 3: gold timmed blocks (running out of ideas)
works like wool except with other blocks
idea 4: gold designs (inspired by redstone)
crafted like so []

it can be placed on any open side of a block creating a design when placed (like redstone). this can be used on trimmed blocks too.
please leave thoughts and ideas, because i am running out of ideas
th chandler can only be placed on ceilings and will hang one block down from where placed. this allows for more sophisticated lighting in large halls. you can also replace torches with netherrack to give for a more dramatic feel. either way it produces the same light level as a glowstone block.
i like the paintings, but i think they should be SIGNIFICANTLY larger....we have enough small ones... lets get some 7x4's in here, 6x6, 8x3, stuff like that.
i like the gold trimmed carpetting, im a fan of colored wools myself.
i like the chandelier thing too... it bugs me that torches cant be hung from the ceiling as is, in fact.
what about:
...stained glass windows? this here would make a stack of like... 6 perhaps? enough for one 2x3 window per diamond used....
between golden chandeliers, enourmous paintings... golden trimmed cardpets (and maybe some in the walls for trimmed curtains) and stained glass windows.... i could see a very lavish, posh-posh cathiedral in the making

This game has lost its balls. Please introduce a harder difficulty setting.

i was actually thinking about stained windows, but never recorded them. anyway thats the whole purpose of this thread is to allow players to build very prestiges looking structures with a material that really has no practical use

do you think that gold paintings should be larger then normal ones then? since they require a decent amount of gold.
I wish I was in this :C
what i meant was the imrpovment of them
oh well, i have a feeling that the final product is gonna do that anyway

That would be awesome

crafted like regular signs except with all gold ingots
not only does this show your filthy rich but you will be able to use dyes to color the lettering (for the whole sign), with black being default.
this allows for large multi-colored designs using letters
