Lead would be a good addition to this game.
Lead is one of the most used metals today.
It can be used for pickaxes, paint, and for buildings.
Paint
Combining lead with any dye would give you lead paint.
While equiping it, you can right click any surface to change it's color.
Pickaxes
Lead tools are heavy, that is why only lead pickaxes would make sense.
Their strength would be somewhere between iron and stone,
but it would last almost as long as diamond.
Also, I always thought that redstone would be some kind of uranium-like material,
so lead pickaxes would be able to mine redstone faster.
Buildings
Lead would be a good building material.
A 4x4 square would give you a lead block.
Lead would have a great explosive resistance. = Lead

Agreed. Please search next time, or at least flesh out your idea a lot more.
Keep in mind that even though lead is a heavy, dense material, it is much "softer" than iron and diamond -- and even gold. Keeping with the trend given, lead tools would be even less durable than gold ones, but also much faster.
Paint would be cool though. It could just be programed to place a texture on a particular side of a cube. Combine dyes with a bucket of water, and allow a certain number of uses on cubes. You could even add a paintbrush tool to keep it interesting or something. Prolly been suggested before.

Don't pick your nose with a pickaxe. Use a shovel.

What else would lead do?
Maybe I'm missing something...
