I think the monsters should die faster when they are in the sunlight. Right now they take subjective hours to die after the sun comes up. This cuts into the time people can do things in the sunlight.
They take a long time to die from sunlight. This can be a problem for new games starting or having died and trying to get your body again. This afternoon it happened to me that there were 3 zombies, 4 creepers and a spider all trying to kill me as the sun was coming up. Needless to say I died a number of times because of those darned Creepers! Without a weapon or armor, it is hard to kill the mobs and waiting for sunlight to kill them take to long. I am suggesting that it take half the time for sunlight to kill a mob. In fairy tales the ogres turned to stone instantly when exposed to sunlight; that is to fast I think. Taking half the time is a good compromise.

If you are having trouble with mobs dig a deep hole in the ground then make them follow you around the hole, they will die...
I just hate it when a skeleton is in the middle of a lake, because it won't catch on fire... aside from that the sunlight is fine as is.
Yeah. I think sunlight should do direct damage, instead of just lighting them on fire, so that they still die in water, but other then that, I think its just fine the way it is.
They die fine already. So no.
