A crate would be exactly like a chest, but with a few differences:
1. They cannot be combined to make a double chest
2. They are crafted differently
3. They have the Automatic Collection feature.
Crates would be crafted
Though they could be used as a chest replacement, this would be inefficient.
Crates would mainly be used for their Automatic Collection feature: When an item touches a crate, it is automatically stored inside.
This could be used for cactus farms, mob traps, etc.
A set up for a trap collection stream could be like this: (flowing water) (crates)
A tunnel would be underneath.
As the items float past, they are stored in the chests. You could walk through the tunnel and access them.
Tell me what you think, add your thoughts, whatever. This was just a random idea I had, and I thought it sounded interesting enough to deserve a thread.
So I saw this topic: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=284730 and thought it would be a good idea to repost it even though it's still active.

I am terribly sorry everyone, I know I should have searched before I posted this, I just wanted to throw this out before I forgot. Kindly do not post on this thread anymore.
