Read EVERYTHING before you post, I don't want unexpected arguments due to lack of reading
This still has the same elements of minecraft, same tools, same look, but it still could be a game on its own! :biggrin.gif:
If you don't like it, please just don't post. This is my 2nd idea and, it might not be the best. . .

WHAT IS REALISTIC MODE?
Realistic mode is an idea I though up myself, a totally different mode then all the original/planned ones. I'm guessing this idea will NOT be made, and I expect it to get low ratings due to it's difficulty of making it. Very far-fetched actually. It is almost like survival mode, but, has some major changes. Once again: I KNOW THIS WILL PROBABLY NOT BE MADE! But we all have a chance at trying, don't we? Lol, I think this could actually be a seperate GAME by itself!
In realistic mode, you will, first of all, have three different types of status bars.
HEALTH:
Just like the single-player, if you get damaged you lose a heart. Losing all of them will kill you and return you to your spawnpoint(s). Though, as you will see in the General Differences section, it will have some changes.
THIRST:
This, is a twist. You have to drink water to fill it up, if it gets low you will get a warning of some kind that you must drink. If you get it totally emptied, you have 30 seconds to get clean water before you die. Drinking ocean water will lower your thirst even more, and possibly kill you if you need clean water, and polluted water, will lower health.
HUNGER:
You have got to eat to fill this up. Raw foods will lower health slightly, depending on what they are. And cooked will fill you up, more then raw foods and not damage your health, and burnt foods (food that has stayed in the cooking place too long) will lower health a lot.
More changes and differences are in the General/Specific changes sections.
WHY WAS THIS THOUGHT UP?
Well, minecraft was, and is, a very fun game, but I wanted it to be a bit more realistic, plus not ruin the players who liked to play the original way's gameplay.
I got the idea, from a game on this other online game. . (starting with an "R" and "O") and thought if Minecraft AND that survival game were put together, it would be the most awesome level of epic. Other people might think otherwise, but. . .
DIFFERENCES FROM OTHER MODES (General)
Realistic mode has MANY differences from the current modes. First off, like mentioned before, you have 2 more status bars then you usually do. In case you didn't read them, or want to read them again, here are the status bars:
Realistic mode also has seasons, each one lasting 60 minutes and causing different effects on the environment. Biomes still will exist. Here is a layout of the seasons:
WINTER:
In winter, it will snow a lot. The snow storms will limit your vision depending on how serious they are. Animals will be harder to find, because most are hibernating. The night is longer, the day is shorter, and snow will slow you down. I think it's a nice touch to the game. Fish are harder to catch in winter.
SPRING:
In spring, all mobs will come out and spawn as they regularly do, maybe even more. Trees and other plants grow 30% faster in spring. And flowers will spawn more often on the ground. The day and night are regular. And it rains.
SUMMER:
In summer, mobs are out as they usually do. It rains not so often, so rivers/fresh water sources will dry up during this, making you refuge to find more water in caves. The day is longer too, and the night is shorter. The sun is also brighter, making it light more up. Fish can be caught easier in deeper waters than normal.
FALL:
In fall, small snow flurries will whip up, and the leaves on trees will slightly change color. Not much difference here.
Water is very important to drink. There should be a way to drink it, maybe, right click on it? Sea water is salty, causing thirst to go down. Polluted water is made when enough dirt is around it, after a period of time. Or an item falls in and slowly dissolves in it. You can unpollute the water by taking away some dirt/the item.
Polluted water will lower your health. And will be very murky, and hard to see in, it will be a light/dark brown depending on it's level of pollution.
Another Difference is cooking food is harder to do. Raw food will lower health a bit but not fill the hunger bar up as much, cooked will normally fill up the hunger bar, and burnt food will give drastic damage to the player.
Food CANNOT be cooked on a furnace, a furnace is used for heating raw materials, in realistic mode you will have to actually cook it. This is difficult to explain. I will try the best I can.
Food can be placed AS LONG as it's placed on an item that needs the food to be placed on it to cook the item. And can be taken off by right-clicking. If it is not being placed on an item that needs it to be placed to cook it, you will not be able to cook the food.
Different levels of fire/cooking items will be needed to have a less chance of burning the food. Like a fire built out of logs, built by a firemaking tool, will have the highest rate of burning a food item. Here are the different items used to cook:
Log Fire:
Made: By lighting logs on fire with firemaking tool.
Rate of burning: 8/10
Fireplace:
Made: [] []
Rate of burning:6/10
Oven:
Made:Used like a furnace []
Rate of burning:2/10
MOB DIFFERENCES
Mobs in realistic mode, would have some differences from regular right now.
Mobs would be rarer to find depending on what type they are, and what biome their in. Same with the season. For example: A pig would not be found on a very high mountain, there's a chance cattle would, and maybe chickens. Here are where mobs would be found, in biomes:
Cow:
Found: Any area with lots of grass, will not appear in deserts or snowy areas
Grouping:Can be found in large herds of 4-7 and can be kept together by tamed animals.
Chicken:
Found:Near trees, where they can pluck seeds. They can be found almost anywhere in the map.
Grouping:1-2 in same area.
Sheep:
Found:Areas with lots of grass, like cows, but can be found in snowy areas, but not deserts.
Grouping:1-3 in same area.
Pig:
Found:Near water sources that have lots of dirt around them.
Grouping:Randomly grouped together.
Squid:
Found:Deep oceans and/or lakes.
Grouping:4-5 in same area.
Whale (Added mob, explained later):
Found:VERY deep oceans
Grouping:Just 1 at a time. They usually aren't in groups.
In realistic mode, you will have more added mobs than usual. These mobs will not make the game slow, because as you move away, the mobs will despawn and respawn as usual. These mobs each have a use for them. Here are the added mobs:
Whale:
I took the idea from some other post and changed it a bit. Thanks whoever thought of it! A whale has the ability to transport the player, you can go into the mouth, and build inside it. And when you come out you'll be in some other location. I have a lot to say, so I won't describe it in detail.
Bear:
The bear is a DAYLIGHT aggressive mob. It will attack you if you come to close to it, and when killed, it might drop 4-5 leather.
Deer:
A very fast mob, it will run away from you unless you charge up to it quickly, or stalk it through the forest until it stops to look around, or munch on some grass/flowers. When killed, it drops a VENISON! Which is like a porkchop, but gives you more filled hunger.
Tortoise:
A desert mob, it can be tamed by giving it flowers to eat! After it's been tamed, it will follow you around (Slowly, of course) and can have things put on it, a max of 1 or 2. Like a cheat or furnace. More than one can be tamed at a time. If attacked, it will go into it's shell and won't be hurt by attacks. If killed, give turtle shell, which can make a strong chestplate.
Giant Tortoise:
A HUGE version of the Tortoise, it does spawn in the desert, and has a height max of 5 bricks that can be stacked on top of it. MSU (Mobile Storage Unit)
Crocodile:
Lives in murky water, at night, he is invisible, unless a torch/Light source is put near him, then his eyes glow red, BEWARE OF THE WATERS! He will wait, then strike with high speed.
Shark:
The shark will try to kill you in water, if provoked. OR if you go too close to it. I don't know what it would drop, post ideas.
Rabbit:
Runs away from you if you approach it! This can be used to feed a tamed bird if it catches one.
Horse:
You can ride this if tamed, give it flowers to tame it. The speed is about as fast as a minecart. The horse might jerk you off, though.
Bird:
To tame it, give it seeds! Once tamed, it will fly around you, attacking any mob you attack. When health is low, it will go off hunting, and try to eat a rabbit.
Mobs, can be bred in realistic mod. Once two are together for 1/2 day, there will be a baby animal around the 2 mobs, they will only breed if no other animals are in a 7 block radius.
The baby animals can turn into an adult, if you care for them properly. A baby animals MUST get seeds every 1/2 day if it is to grow. Bred animals will follow you around a bit more than wild ones, and will not wander off into no-where. They also have a larger chance of producing more products than wild mobs.
NOTES FROM WRITER OF TOPIC
I know this idea is a bit far-fetched, and it most likely won't be made. But don't start arguing about it.
Post any ideas for this here. And please be constructive and DO NOT TROLL!
If this DOES get taken into consideration, it will only be made after the full version is released. (Most likely won't)
awesome idea i like it alot. Have you ever played a warcraft 3 custom map called island troll tribes? Its alike like what you seem to be getting at. I think there should be two more bars alongside of health. Heat and sleep.
Mods? Uh, I really never install mods at all, they crash my computer ._.
And also, yes, I do admit the baby animals thing was based from a mod I TRIED to install, but found out that it totally ruined minecraft alltogether for some reason. But, other than that, i can't seem to think of anything else I based off mods. . .
Check Minecraft Wiki. In the difficulty article, they state that Notch may be adding stuff like hunger&thirst, with a realism bar. Creative is on one end and realistic is on the other. P.S. I'm a Coal Miner now. Yay!
i the thing about whales though, is that what if it swims away? and yeah it would be cool to buil inside of it but if it swims away and leaves you in a place that you can't get your stuff back, then that is useless. also, how would you get materials?
