Currently blocks like brick or smooth stone are merely decorative in function, having the same blast resistance (30) as regular cobblestone. I think players should be rewarded a little bit for going through the hassle of making brick blocks or turning cobblestone back into smooth stone.
So here are some blocks whose blast resistances are currently 30, that I think should have their blast resistances increased:
*Brick (50)
*Smooth stone (50)
*Iron block (300)
*Iron door (50)
*Diamond block (3,000)
I agree with this tentatively, though I am concerned that increasing the blast resistance of stone too much could mean that using dynamite to blast mine will become even less effective relative to the number of creepers you'd have to kill.

Oh, right right right...mining with TNT would become totally impractical. Well, in that case, perhaps leave brick and smooth stone at 30 (and the iron door at 25), but reduce the resistance of these blocks in comparison:
