Redstone wires and distances has been a problem with quantity and space to place. Why not just make the wires wireless? and instead of wires have a devices that emmits and recieves a signal. It can deploy multiple signals in any direction and the problems of making wires from point a to point b is no longer needed. Because the maker... notch(I think) only allowed the wires to keep electricity for a certain amount, the signal could be absorbed after a certain distance.
Already suggested, and may cause problems with current Redstone circuits unless a cathode and a reciever/output system is implemented with different wavelengths.
I would sooner see an auditory receiver than a wireless signal receiver, where a specific tone emitted from a note block keys to the 'tuning fork' in an Ear block.
Not necessarily wireless, but close enough, and not too modern.

If you stack a Desert Temple on the top of a Jungle Temple which is on the top of two churches you get a megazord

All the same, redstone isn't meant to be all powerful and such, and custom receivers would be nasty to make. The signals would all go the wrong ways and mess things up. NO.

At a loss for words? Here's a few you can use: Welcome, to Night Vale...
what if instead of wireless a block called infer redstone was created that when it has a redstone input it sends a beam of light when it hits an infer redstone block it powers the redstone on the side across from the side the light hit.
add limits to length and possibly a way to refocus the beam.
possibly add in that the beam can be obscured by a player standing in its way allowing for some tripwire traps

Do you mean fibre optics? and can this redstone be activated by normal light like the torches?
I believe it will be too sensitive, any object can change the light including mobs but still a good idea
So whats the response?
