Right now we have blocks that are flat half size blocks but I think we need half size blocks cut the other way to make a small rectangle half block or even 1/3 and 1/4 blocks.
I was trying to make a well with a roof on top and have a bit of an overhang but currently the only way to do that is to have a full width block which looks ridiculously huge of an overhang so i've had to not have one at all which to me looks only slightly better than with the giant overhang.
Try to find applications of this "half-size" block, and other ideas (1/3 and 1/4 blocks) other than just esthetics, and it may be interesting enough to gain support.
Personally, instead of making another receipe, another block ID, I say, adding some code to the current halfblocks so that, when you right-click them (once placed), they move from horizontal to vertical, but only if there's just one of them. 2 wouldn't matter, as they'd form a full block already. Just flip them before you add the second one.

Well game is for design/creativity so I would think esthetics would be enough of a reason :smile.gif: and not only for my own purposes everybody would be able to benefit.
I do like your idea about being about to change them from horizontal to vertical as it would kinda of do what I would like (even better then the way mine would) as well as open up alot of new designs people could make :smile.gif:

maybe one application would be water control? it would be cool to see water be updated to flow in half-values or even 1/4th values apart from the full blocks it uses now.
