Hello, Im BSE or more commonly called Xabior and Im here to discuss the idea of diseases and cures.
The main reason I believe that these thigns should be added is to try and slow down the player in his/her task.
Dieases
Diseases from my pointof view in Minecraft wouuld not particulary be focused on being sick, but by having certain traits you have being hampered (slower speed, weaker vision, etc). Unfourtantly, various problems hamper this idea from being a reality, here are some questions that are of main concern: How would a player catch this disease? What would be responsible for this? How bad would it hamper a players abilities? and how many dieases would there be? For starters, the first two questions are the same: What creature/plant/object is responsible for this? From my view, anything could be used to cause this although the chance of seeing it would have to be very scarce or else the game would simply to be frustrating for any one player to play. How bad the diseases is is not my decision to make, although there would probally be atleast three different diseases, from weak to deadly:
Flu
Symptoms: slightly impaired vision, slight speed and agility impairment
Mad Creepers Disease
Symptoms: nearly diasbled vision, very slow speed, very uneasy movment (Dizzy), impaired agility, pain, near chance of death (unless treated, health will very slowly deplete and food will not be able to heal you bakc if you catch this disease.
These are my examples, but thousands of ideas can be thought up easily.
Cures
Cures are probally more problematic then dieases, probally because what the ingredients would be used to make it and how easy to obtain the reasources are alll depends on dieases, both dieases and cures must balance out or else there is a chance that diseases make the game too hard or they become simply a pest.
All ideas presented are ideas, I hope that you post your own ideas in order to help improve this "Demo".

I already said in my topic that there would be many problems with this idea and it is a suggestion by a new user anyways. This is excatly why I posted this topic, because of the PROBLEMS that are present in doing all of this not to mention the time it would take even if this idea has/was/is discussed among Mojang or users (Although I doubt it). I also said that those three diseases where just ideas by myself, I just wanted to see the initial reaction from you guys.

It might be complicated, but I dont believe that it be a no; if diseases where to be added, perhaps there would be only a flu as said? That would eliminate some of the complications and such a Flu could ,maybe, act as a simply pest.

They should add it so you have a 20% chance of catching a disease from a slime if you encounter one. Maybe the way to get rid of it is a random amount of mushroom soup. 1-3 if you got it within the first 6 days. 3-6 if you got it any time past the first 6 days.

And it would be impossible to even find the cure for Mad Creeper Disease, what with slow speed, movement, vision, pain, and death.
So basically, if you get Mad Creeper Disease, it'd be impossible to bounce back.
