This forum was made so I could easily put all my ideas here instead of having to hop around adding a hundred forums, and it makes it easier to see them...
If you want to make a mod from these ideas, feel free, I just want the link :biggrin.gif:
Idea #1: Firewood (Craft, Item, Block)
Firewood would act as a torch, providing light and not setting a real fire, being placed as a block, and like the future torch will be, going out over a certain amount of time, possibly even getting dimmer through it. It would not be able to be walked through and be a 1.5 block like the fence. It would be crafted as a full set of sticks:
Or maybe as 8 sticks and a flint+steel that you lose durability on, making it more useful than just for fires, and getting rid of those leftover three sticks that will bug you forever.
Idea #2: Grill (Craft, Block)
Grills would be used just like furnaces, and be able to cook four things at once, each at the same time, but it would take two or three times longer to cook, or just take up that much more fuel, which levels it out. This would be a good thing to use when cooking porkchops or fish, so people wouldn't have to wait and rush to make sure they get more from their fuel, it could be crafted as:
What's the iron for? Well, you can't exactly cook them without the little pipes to put them on for fire to burn them...
Idea #3: Sharpening Stone (Craft, Item)
Sharpening Stones should be made by putting flint and cobblestone together, it would increase a tools durability (Swords, Picks, Axes, Shovels, Hoes, not flint+steel or armor or wooden tools.) by a certain amount to make them last longer. It would be a shapeless recipe making it and using it, but it would be a useful item for people who have diamond tools and don't want to lose them.

Idea #4: Trapdoor (Craft, Block)
Trapdoors would act as doors and open/close by right clicking. Placing redstone power would open it as it does to doors, but using a direct link, such as a pressure plate ontop of the door would cause the plate to drop, as it does on floating pieces of sand when stepped on. This would allow people to make burrows in the ground as last-minute safehouses at night, or to create a more house-like area with a celler or attic. They would be crafted in the 3x3 table with six wooden planks:

Idea #5: Dynamite (Craft, Item, Projectile)
Dynamite was one of the earlier ideas for minecraft, but nobody had a completely reasonable way to make them... I got this idea when I shot at a spider, missed, and hit the TNT while the spider touched the pressure plate it was near and blew it up, I thought, why not launch dynamite? It would take a while to make and be thrown like a snowball, instead of launched from a bow. It would have half the power of a regular TNT in exchange for it being a projectile, and would explode on impact. It would be crafted as shown and get four from each set, stacked to 64:

Idea #6: Natural Vines and Growing Moss (Item, Generation)
We need some more natural things and ways to replenish other items without walking a thousand blocks to get them... Vines would be something new to Minecraft, although not a new idea, really. Why not have them spawn on the sides of rocks and cobblestone inside caves and dungeons and what not? They wouldn't be craftable, but would be able to get picked up and climbed on, like a ladder, only for a place where you want it to look run down and what not. Growing moss would be a nice thing to have too, theres only so many dungeons in Minecraft, and we have no way to edit that without map makers or editors, and theres no generation setting that lets us edit it either, why not have it grow from mossy stones to other cobblestones at a slow rate? That adds on to that ruin-like idea.
Idea #7: More Map Generator Settings (Generation)
I know Notch is going to have things like Adventure Mode and Realism Mode and all that... But why not have a customizable mode? Maybe people want all forest, all desert, all snow, a million dungeons, endless cave systems, or just a flat plain with no mountains at all, why not have generator options for it? Something along the lines of chance of getting that biome... It would be a sort of shuffle - The generator chooses a biome at random, and connects to the chance value, of 0-100 for that biome, if the chance isn't as high as what you set it, it draws from random again, until it has a biome chosen at the chance you chose or above it. Also edits for vegetation, natural caves, dungeons, and map flatness could all be set with sliders, that way until adventure mode comes out, or even when it is, people could set anywhere from a peaceful little house on a hill to the Nether on Earth.
Idea #8: Throwable Sticks (Projectile)
This was a pointless idea and I got it from hitting someone with a stick and then throwing it at them at the same time... Why not throw sticks that break after they hit something, do 0.5 damage, and don't really go that far? Not everyone wants to punch a creeper in the face, even throwing a stick at it has to be better than that...
Idea #9: Timed Crafting (Edit)
I always think to myself, crafting items is just too easy, it isn't that realistic either, and it makes me ask, why not have it be timed? It could take half the time as the furnace and crafting could be activated by pressing a [Craft!] button or something, I don't think everyone will agree with me on this, but some of the people who like having a little challenge would, so if the current difficulty altered the time it takes to craft something, such a peaceful is instantly, easy is one second, normal is two seconds, hard is three or four seconds... I would love it if someone made a mod for this.
Idea #10: Tough Stone (Craft, Block)
Creepers always find a way to explode in my face when I build a stone house, and it literally destroys everything, I think there needs to be a way to get stones that have double or triple the blast resistance of a regular stone, for the price it takes to make them, having to put cobble in the furnace and use up all your coal, I think it's a great idea. It would be a darker version of a normal stone and be crafted using four stones in a square, like sandstone.
I put in some new ideas... This post was just to see if someone else would find it and hopefully help me out with a mod or something for some of these... LolBump?
