Basically just grinds block into smaller pieces, since cobblestone can be made with water and lava (cobblestone generator) it would make gravel, sand, and therefore glass into renewable resources. Other recipes are possible feel free to suggest.

So... It's a block processor, to make smaller pieces? What do you want, 1/8th blocks? Gravel Blocks? Sand Blocks? What else would there be? Are you creating a new block, wasting a receipe and a block ID, just to get something that you can already get anyways?
And, can't you just walk out and explore to find those? Wait, you CAN!
I say you should develop this idea a LOT more. I also say that, for now, it is rejected.

I like it. Renewable glass is a fantastic way to keep me from desolating my beaches.
Suppooooooooooooooooooort.

It doesn't make 1/8th blocks, and it works exactly the same way as the furnace but with different recipies. Putting stone or cobblestone into it will make gravel, putting gravel into it will make sand, the idea is to turn flint and glass into renewable resources. not all worlds have nearby deserts and some people, including me, do not like digging random holes into the world and destroying the landscape to gather sand.

Erm... it's called MINEcraft. You ARE digging random holes in the world. If you don't want to see them, then just place some dirt at the top of the hole once you've dug everything you needed. It keeps the landscape, but you have ressources.
Alternatively, use Single Player Commands mod to get more of those sand/gravel blocks.
Geeze, next you're gonna say something like "Oh well we should find a way that Obsidian can be crushed in this and it'll make diamonds, hur durr" >_>

Mines can be planned and placed anywhere and are therefore not random, to gather sand you have you to dig wherever you find sand and thus is random. glass can not be picked up once placed and must be destroyed, so it is important to some people that glass can be renewed in someway. Using a grinder one can use 8 charcoal to tun a stack of gravel into a stack of sand and another 8 charcoal to turn it into glass with a funace. This also creates a practical use for gravel. Also, I think being able to put obsidian into it to get diamonds would be way too easy, although halving a chance of a resource return with certain blocks is another idea I had I may elaborate in a future suggestion.
how pray tell does cooking gravel turn it into sand?
I'm not against the idea of having glass that can be properly broken and gatherred back if you make a mistake, but that has been suggested several times over, and the best idea I've seen and had, was for a glass cutter, which would be another tool. Not this monstrosity that makes no sense.

The grinder turns gravel to sand using charcoal, cooking sand makes glass, I'm aware there have been suggestions for being able to pick up glass, and I couldn't just say you should be able to pick up glass because it's already been suggested. The grinder is not complicated as it's basically a copy of the funace with different recipies, stone=gravel gravel= sand. It is not a monstrosity, it would only take a block of space. I'm aware that it would be a bad idea to include it if it only had two recipies but more are possible. Being able to pick up glass is not the same as glass being renewable. In it's current build it is pretty much a waste of code but is a good start to what may become a great idea.

All of your posts here indicate you didn't only not read the topic, but have little to no intelligence. He is proposing that grinding up stone/cobble turns it into gravel (small rocks), and grinding gravel up turns it into sand (smaller rocks). This occurs naturally and is called erosion. My God.
Then go ahead and figure some other receipes, because for now, it's not worth coding in just to get 2 ressources that you can easily get, but don't want to "destroy the landscape" (pathetic excuse for a lazy punk).
If you could make everything you want in the game just from a single mineshaft of 2x2, thanks to all other tools and stuff, if you're lucky enough to stumble upon coal, iron, gold, redstone, lapis and diamond while you're digging, then why, pray tell, would people explore? Hell, the world is INFINITE! It is open to exploration! Plus, with the beds now making new spawn points, you can just keep exploring further and further without fear of losing track of where you were.
I say, if you're not going to explore in Minecraft, you're missing out on a crapload of potential, and making the whole coding of new worlds every time you create one totally useless. Way to go, you just insulted the creators by not wanting to explore and gathering ressources.
You just want everything handed to you on a silver platter.
Then use "Single Player Commands", the mod that lets you get any item you want in the game, an infinite amount of times.
