I have an idea for 1 weapon that could be for good use and some tools that would also be great.
Weapon
Throwing Spears
[] []
[] []
[] []
Same range as bow & arrow.
Deals 4 damage when thrown.
Deals 2 damage when hit with.
Cannot destroy bricks with though.
Can only be made with flint.
How to use:
To hit use the left button
To throw use the right button.
Tools
1.Throwing Torch
[] []
[] []
[] [] []
Spider=String
You can throw with the torch with holding the right button.
Your character should lean back with the right hand back (where the throwing torch should be)
and than release the right button to throw it.
2. Holding Torch
[] []
[] []
[] [] []
Flower=Grip
You can dual wield this with a sword axe etc.
This can be useful for traveling in the dark and the holding torch
gives off as much light as a normal torch.
This is can be useful because its harder to see mobs in the dark
or if your just looking for flowers and stuff int eh dark on peaceful that
can be useful to.
How to use:
In the crafting box (can be 4 box or crafting table) You should attach the holding torch like this
[] []
The stick could be a tool or flower anything.
When you put the attack holding torch (to a tool) put it back in a crafting box or table and you can claim them both back (requires 2 free spaces to claim).
3. Grip (For Holding Torch)
[] [] []
[] []
[] []
Wool can be any color but turns into white wool. Flint is supposed to be flint.
Used to make the Holding Torch.
Information
These are not yet in the game but could be a mod.
I have no images but if put in the game I hope they got the idea of what i was thinking.
Everything has been suggested before, except maybe the tool-mounted torches, but still, torch-wielding light source has been suggested about a hundred times, if not more. (I'd wager several diamonds on more).
So let's still study them individually.
Battle Axe... Why are you using an arrow in the middle? And why would it deal the same amount of damage as a sword of the same type? It's kind of silly, it's just another sword, in the shape of a battleaxe. Nothing different. REJECTED.
Throwing Spears. As I said, has been suggested before. Even I suggested it before (wasn't the first though). Check out the weapons megathread and post about those in there.
Throwing torch. There's much better, Torch Arrows. Shoot an arrow, and as long as you don't hit a mob, or your arrow lands in water, it will place a torch on the block the arrow hits.
Holding torch, I've explained before, and if you need light right next to you as you mine, just put a torch on a block right next to you and mine. All it takes is about a second. Not that big a deal.

While i may have seemed to like some of these ideas, I one have one argument that all of these are subject too (except the javelin that one was good).
Lets say hypothetically I suggested a food item called rye. you would find seeds by hoeing the dirt for them plant them then wait for them to grow, craft four together and get rye bread. It would heal 3 hearts. I would get internet slapped and people would say "This is just bread that heals .5 more hearts.". And they would be correct.
For multiple food items to work, they should all be completely different. If two were obtained in similar ways, the two items should each fill a necessary niche in the game. For example if corn was grown like wheat, there should be multiple crafting recipes that use corn that make wheat necessary instead of wheat.
SO now your saying, "lol bro this isn't the farmcraft topic!". Well all of these rules should apply to weapons.
Each weapon should be unique and fill a specific niche in combat. Most of these are just swords that do a little more damage or slash a bit faster. My challenge to you is make up a weapon idea that would feel and play COMPLETELY different then a sword or bow and arrow. And small tweaks in stats do not make it feel or play differently.
For those who wouldn't or couldn't read this wall of text here's my main point.
If a weapon is just a sword or bow and arrow with small stat tweaks, it has no right to be in the game. If a weapon has different balanced features that make it feel and play differently then a sword or bow and arrow it has a right to be in the game.
so that's it /rant.
Needs to be posted in every weapon thread. Best example of how they should work ever.

Hey, my holding told was never posted (had been posted but not this kind this is a bit more complex)
it requires a grip and you can hold it with tools or weapons. And this isn't a farmcraft topic. Or a weaponcraft topic either.
The only thing different is that it has a grip. But that doesn't make it new in any way.
It's like saying that Froot Loops and the generic Publix brand are different because they have different box art.
Umm you can hold it with a sword or tool. And i think my post was edited or something because i also said that no one said suggested that only a tool you can hold.

You're beating around the bush. Adding in very minor details to give the illusion of originality.
