Lately too much has been added into the game that has been nicey-nice. But nothing to up the challenge of the game. We have dyes which are cool. Beds for sleeping (making night go away though makes the game a little too easy - but the spawn point addition was great!). Wolves which are cute and helpful.
We have pistons coming up it seems. Those will be real nice. Weather. Good to have something back.
But what about the challenge? Notch once stated he'd rather make the game harder rather than easier. Time to make it interesting.
Nether Hounds - Larger versions of wolves, red, oranges and yellows. They move quickly, but can't take much damage (unless they are in the Netherworld). They don't have much of a bite, but are more dangerous when they decide to breathe fire near your woods and wooded structures. They would be found in Deserts, Caves closer or nearer to lava, the Nether and of course around your base where your Nether Portal is located. They would drop coal and/or netherrack. As an aside, they dislike all other non-nether creatures and attack just about everything (skeletons, zombies, creepers and spiders included).
We're actually in the middle of discussing details on it in the New Nether thread. Right now the only detail really hammered out is that they should be tenuous allies and be able to turn on you. Also I'm currently leaning towards Grimhound as the name for the standard ones.
