Like a book that you get when you spawn, and it sorta acts like guide when you do new things. Like when you get a diamond pick, a new chapter opens in the book telling you that it's the best type of pick and is the only thing that can mine obsidian (Insert cool pic of obsidian). Or when you spawn, it tells how to destroy blocks and build a basic house etc, etc.
I got the inspiration from 100 Days to Mine with the book that Alex finds in the cave.
No. If they can't figure this stuff out, tough **** to 'em.
Why are you so harsh on everyone =/
Because the player learning for them-self makes the game better. If the player learns for them selves they are more engaged and get more out of the game. The most a tutorial should do is say,
"Get some wood. This is the crafting bench recipe. Items are made by placing the necessary materials in a shape similar to the object you are trying to make. The necessary materials for a pickaxe are three planks and two sticks. Good luck!"
This way the player still has to learn for them-self the game doesn't just tell them.
The best tutorial is one where you don't know it's a tutorial.
