My idea is staffs. If you take a diamond, one steel ingot, and a stick and place them like in the grid above it comes out with a staff. Like a sword a staff has a durability bar under it so you can't use it forever. You press right trigger to shoot out a bolt of energy and the left trigger to hit enemies at close range. A bolt of energy fired from the staff wears the staff out (how like hitting something with a sword wears the sword out). The bolt of energy does around 4 or 3 hearts of damage and is far ranged like an arrow. Hitting an enemy with the staff by pressing left trigger only does 1 damage. The staff is far ranged but wears out over time, but it does more damage than an arrow does.

I think this is a good idea. It would not be entirely overpowered, seeing that you need a diamond and iron, but still, I think that it would need to be a little harder to have it be made into a staff. How about this;
First, you need a Magic Crystal. This is the recipe.

The staff would have a "magic charges" bar, and a "durability" bar. It would have three hundred uses in durability, destroying things use two although hitting takes one, and you would have one hundred magic attack uses. If the durability ran out, the staff would break. If the charges ran out, you could no longer fire magic attacks, although still attack 'til your durability runs out.
I like the magic crystal idea. So then it would be harder to make. :biggrin.gif: 300 durability sounds fine and the other stuff sounds good too.
